Λιγα λογια για την αγαπητη μου εταιρεια Ingersoll .. μια παλαια εταιρεια που αναβιωσε οχι οπως ηταν αλλα με αρκετα ενδιαφερουσα νεα παρουσια

The Dollar Ingersoll Watch took some time to become a reality, but Ingersoll solved the mass production puzzle with the Ingersoll Watch...
Around the end of the 1870s and maybe even before, pocket watch manufacturing was not the most financialy secure of industries. Pocket watches on the whole were expensive and therefore reserved for the more affluent members of society. Of course, a gentleman of the day would not be seen without his pocket watch - they were very much a status symbol, just like a prestige wrist watch is today.

What pocket watch manufacturers needed was to sell more watches - and to do that they needed to produce them in a much more efficient and cost effective manner, make them accessible to the masses, and therefore make them much cheaper. So the first ideas of producing the so-called "Dollar Watch" was born.

One company is famous for the first genuine Dollar watch - Ingersoll. They produced the first Dollar Ingersoll Watch in 1881 via a New York based mail-order business set up by brothers Robert & Charles Ingersoll. The Dollar Watch proved to be so popular that by mid 1890s they had sold one million Dollar Pocket Watches. Ingersoll coined the phrase "The Watch that made the Dollar Famous!". Other companies that also sold pocket watches costing only one dollar were Westclox, New Haven, Ingraham, and Ansonia.

These watches were not the same as more expensive makes of the era. They did not utilise jewels in their mechanisms, instead they used the so-called "pin lever" method. Instead of a jewel being used as a bearing, a hole was drilled directly into the pocket watch plate and a pin attached to the gear sat inside the hole. This was a simple but effective way to drastically reduce costs. Oiling was very important to reduce wear on the metal-to-metal contact surfaces, and the movements did eventually wear. But the goal was achieved - make a watch affordable for the everyday worker.

Ingersoll continued and expanded its operations to the UK market, with a store in London being opened in 1904. Here it sold the Crown pocket watch, which was sold for the princely sum of 5 shillings (25 new pence). Ingersoll was eventually bought out by the Time Corporation and eventually the name was changed to that synonymous with timekeeping in general throughout the 20th century - Timex.
For collectors, the Dollar Pocket Watch is still a highly collectible item, and although many people are of the opinion that these watches have no real "antique" value, I disagree. If you can find one of these in mint condition, it still won't cost you an arm and a leg to aquire it, but over time as collectors begin to realise the importance that the Dollar Watch played in the development of timepieces in general, these will become more collectable and hence valuable. Thank heavens for the Ingersoll Watch!

Παντως τα ατιμα εχουν πολυ ''ματι'' για τα λεφτα τους.
Στην Κινα φτιαχνονται ετσι :

οχι απο οτι ξερω
φτιαχνονται στη Γερμανια με κινεζικους seagull μηχανισμους ειδικα περιποιημενους για αυτους

Παντως μερικα που εχω δει παρατηρησα οτι δε γραφουν σε ποια χωρα κατασκευαζονται.
Δε νομιζω παντως να ειναι made in Germany Κωστα γιατι θα το γραφανε και με μεγαλα γραμματα

Στο βιβλιαριο με τις οδηγιες λεει Ingersoll automatic- Uhren...Στο ρολοι δεν λεει τπτ...

Παιδιά άποψη μου είναι πως όλα αυτά,Bernoulli,MZI,LOUIS BOLLE,INVICTA κ.α είναι κινέζικα.Aπλά λανσάρονται στην αγορά με πιό καλή ποιότητα κατασκευής ίσως,ομορφότερα κατασκευασμένα κουτιά και φυσικά σε ακριβότερες τιμές.
Απλά παρακολουθήστε την κίνηση του κεντρικού δευτερολεπτοδείκτη σε όλα αυτά τα μοντέλα και επίσης
κοιτάξτε και τον τύπο των μηχανισμών που λένε ότι έχουν.Τα Bernoulli π.χ έχουν μηχανισμούς Automatic HS2149

Στο επίσημο site αναφέρονται τιμές που δεν αντιστοιχούν στην πραγματικότητα.Για παράδειγμα αυτό που πήρα,έχοντας φυσικά επίγνωση του τι αγοράζω,λένε οτι έχει MSRP 895$ και το αγόρασα από το bay 120$ μαζί με τα μεταφορικά!!!




Επωλήθη σε ξένο forum σε δημοπρασία για φιλανθρωπικό σκοπό 250$,αλλά αν ήταν απλά για
πώληση δεν θα έπιανε πάνω από 50-60 $
Το ίδιο και ένα LOUIS BOLLE που αγόρασα πάλι από το bay για 90$,στο "επίσημο site"λέει ότι
κάνει 1700$

Μηχανισμός...Automatic TY-2720 movement w/ 38 jewels ,τρέχα γύρευε δλδ!!!





Άλλο παράδειγμα τρανταχτό είναι αυτό γνωστής γκαλερί που φέρνει και λανσάρει τα ρολόγια Vidus (εταιρία από το ΗΟΝG KONG) σε τιμές από 600 ευρώ και άνω ενώ στο ιντερνετ τα βρίσκεις σε τιμές γύρω στα 200 ευρώ.Συγκεκριμένα το http://www.nicewatchez.com/vidus-aut...tch-99666.html το διαθέτει γύρω στα 850 ευρώ !!! ενώ δεν κάνει πάνω από 270!!!(και πολλά είναι!!!)
Και αν κάνεις ένα απλό search θα βρείς ότι η Vidus είναι μια κινέζικη εταιρία που απασχολεί από 1-5 ατομα!!!

Τουλάχιστον αυτά έχουν CITIZEN MIYOTA μηχανισμούς...

Επίσης αν παρατηρήσεις όλα έχουν τις ίδιες κάρτες εγγύησης!!!
Για να τα λέμε και όλα όμως σαν ποιότητα κατασκευής δεν είναι άσχημα...και σχεδιαστικά
κάποια από αυτά είναι προχωρημένα

Η μονη σχεση που ειχα ποτε με τους κινεζους και τις μηχανες τους ειναι με τις κουρδιστες τους οι οποιες κρατανε πολυ καλους χρονους τωρα για αυτοματο δε νομιζω να τους εμπιστευομουν γιατι η αυτοματη μηχανη εχει αρκετα κινητα μερη
