Re: Sinn
Sinn U212 SDR
By TLex Introducing the Sinn U212 SDR, A limited edition of 212 units, the U212 was tested and based on European diving equipment standards and was certified by Germanischer Lloyd, Hamburg. It's case is made of high-strength seawater-resistant German submarine steel with TEGIMENT Technology which allows it to be especially scratch-resistant.
Its black bezel with 'Black Hard Coating' is based on the same TEGIMENT technologies as its case. Its sapphire crystal boasts 'Ar-Dehumidifying Technology', which allows it to remain fog free. There's a small 'ar' logo on the dial at 9 o'clock. The watch has been tested to function reliably from –45 °C up to +80°C. Further features include: captive diver's bezel with minute ratcheting, crown at 4 o'clock to prevent pressure on the back of the hand, and water-resistance up to 1000 meters diving depth or 100bar.
From SINN The diving watch U212 is a professional mission timer which uses genuine German submarine steel, a material with extreme seawater-resistance and the highest level of non-magnetic properties. In the movement itself, functional reliability between -45 °C and +80 °C is ensured by the SINN special oil 66-228. And that's not all: with the captive diver's bezel, this diving watch is well-equipped to measure the duration of a dive accurately.
Fogging of the dial poses a safety risk when diving. To prevent this, we use EDR seals. This material, with its extreme chemical resistance and only a quarter of the gas permeability of conventional seals, prevents moisture from diffusing into the diving watch. The scratch-resistance sapphire crystal glass withstands even the highest pressures. The case is equipped with the Ar-Dehumidifying Technology.

Sinn's flight computer, the 903, was introduced after Sinn bought the rights to use the dial lay-out of Breitlings 806 and 809 Navitimer watches. This was a result of Breitling's bankruptcy in 1979. Unlike the Ollech & Wajs Aviation which was essentially a rebadged Breitling, Sinn used a different watch movement, the handwound Lemania 1873 which is the same movement the Omega Speedmaster used. This was chosen to match the "tri-compax" lay-out of the dial that Sinn now owned the rights to. A "tri-compax" chronograph has subdials at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. Later, Sinn added automatic versions of the 903 using the Valjoux 7750 movement.
