So my wife gave birth to our first born last week so I could finally give her her well deserved labour-gold (old Dutch thing, don't know how to translate correctly). It's a baby girl so the watch is an instant heirloom smile
This picture doesn't do the dial of the RO any justice. It's gorgeous especially in sunlight. More special than the Patek I have to confess. I also have to confess that I'm a bit jealous. Can't stop staring at her watch. Already got a complaint that I was staring longer at my wife's wrist than at my wife herself (have to be careful)!!
The movement is also stunning, though the Nautilus wins that contest. The oscillating weight of the Audemars is very nicely engraved and noticeably the shape (degrees) is also different than what you usually see. Yes, the Royal Oak is a stunning watch and especially the combination of the rose gold (which is a bit darker/warmer/copper like) and the silver dial is something else!
Wish I could wear it.....but then again: I didn't go through labour pains
