The TAG Heuer Monaco is back in a limited edition paying homage to its early roots from the period of 1979-1989. It was 1971 when Steve McQueen famously wore the Monaco in the movie Le Mans, and this watch captures the vibes from a decade after Mr. McQueen had propelled the watch squarely into horological stardom. The '80s were a wild time for the racing world, and the Monaco captures the spirit with a sunray red dial and two rhodium-plated registers. Of course, the crown and pusher placement is consistent with Monacos (and Caliber 11 watches) throughout the decades, with the crown on the left and pushers on the right.

TAG branding is absent in order to produce a more honest homage to the original. The classic Heuer logo was chosen to flank the Monaco script. As the Monaco was launched in 1969, 169 of these fiery red pieces will produced.

Initial Thoughts
The latter days of the crazy Can-Am series, death defying (and sometimes not defying) Group B rally racing, and of course, Le Mans. The '80s were characterized by an explosion in technology used in racing and it seemed like the rules hadn't quite caught up to the power race cars were putting down. The fiery red racing dial of this limited edition Monaco totally captures the spirit of the wild racing world of the '80s, and the caliber 11 has earned a very positive reputation after decades serving Heuer among other marques gallantly. In a sea of Monaco limited editions, this one stands out for visually capturing the energy of the '80s racing scene.

Σε αλλο χρωμα ειναι πολυ ομορφο, σε πράσινο δε μου αρεσει , ειναι πολυ εντονο πράσινο

Τι πρασιναδα ειν τουτη..Πολυ εντονο, θα προτιμουσα μια αποχρωση σαν του mm300, ή του τελευταιου aquis..
