H. Moser & Cie Just Dropped a Slimmed-Down Streamliner Watch With a Brand New Movement
A grand feu enamel dial and a new 39 mm size mean it’s perfect for both men and women.
Creative, innovative, dynamic, yet steeped in history—all these and more describe Swiss watchmaking maison H. Moser & Cie. Whether it’s crafting a pared-back take on the perpetual calendar or trolling Apple, the brand delivers consistently compelling and thought-provoking watches that stray far and away from the more standardized tool watch fare occupying the horological zeitgeist of late.
Given the extreme interest in luxury sports watches—and considering just how darn difficult it’s become to secure an allocation of the Royal Oak or Nautilus—it’s little surprise that Moser’s Streamliner draws so much attention. Inspired by the sleek locomotives and automobiles of the 1920s, the collection offers a more avant-garde (and slightly less Genta-esque) take on the luxury sports watch category while retaining an integrated bracelet, a non-round case shape, etc. In time for Dubai Watch Week 2023, Moser is debuting a fresh take on the Streamliner—and it may be one of the brand’s best offerings yet.
Dubbed the Streamliner Small Seconds Blue Enamel, it shrinks the innovative watch down to 39 mm—previous editions were closer to 43 mm—adds a gorgeous blue dial in the brand’s signature fumé grand feu enamel style, and packs a brand-new, in-house movement. Whereas previous iterations might have been several millimeters too large for many wrists, this new reference is perfect for both men and women. Likewise, 120 m of water resistance means that despite its delicate dial, it’s an excellent everyday timepiece. (Depending, of course, on how much you mind banging up a $32,900 watch.)
