The blasted stainless steel case measures 38mm, so it’s been up-sized from the original 34mm, but it’s to a size that I imagine most will be very happy with. 34mm is admittedly far too small for most people today, and 38mm seems to be a sweet spot for heritage reissues. Further specs include drilled lugs, a sapphire crystal, 5 atm of water resistance, and an oversized crown for easy winding.

The dial is pure throwback, with the most noticeable departure being the addition of branding below 12. Otherwise, the numerals, markers, and hands are near one-for-one reproductions, and the latter two are topped off with some vintage-toned lume. And I’m sure you’ve already noticed, but it’s worth pointing out that there’s no date window here. Staying true to the original, the power plant inside the watch is a manual-wind mechanical, likely a Hamilton-branded 2801.

Hamilton: 100 Years Of Timing The Skies

Hamilton has a prestigious history of serving the flying community and has been providing essential cockpit tools to pilots and co-pilots since the early days of flight. Watches are essential in aviation. Everything is based on accurate timing. Even modern pilots need a watch as a reliable backup to their digital multi-instrument display.

Hamilton’s close connection with aviation began early in our history. Having gained a reputation for accuracy with our railroad watches, Hamilton started creating pilots’ watches.

The milestones since then have been regular and significant. In 1918, Hamilton watches were chosen to be the official timekeepers of the first U.S. Airmail flights between Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York. 1926 saw a Hamilton watch time the first flight to the North Pole.

In 2017, Hamilton became the Official Timekeeper of the Red Bull Air Race, the new dimension of motorsport. The championship focuses on speed and precision and requires split-second timing. The pilots use the fastest, most agile and lightweight racing planes to navigate the low–level aerial tracks at high speed. With this partnership, Hamilton is at the forefront of the most exciting branch of aviation.

Πολύ ενδιαφέρον! Και το ρολόι πολύ όμορφο, μου αρέσουν αυτά τα Khaki, είχα 3 παλαιότερα, έπρεπε να κρατήσω έστω 1.

απο τις καλυτερες επανεκδοσεις!!! τρομερο ρολοι!! απλοτητα και ελαφρυ, τοσο που ξεχνας οτι φορας ρολοι!!!

Ωραιο αλλα δυστυχως πολυ μικρο με δυσαναλογα μακρια lugs..Πιστο στην παραδοση αλλα πολλοι στα ξενα φορουμ τονιζουν τις "αδυναμιες" του και εχει αποθαρρύνει κοσμο απ την αγορα του...Σιγουρα ομως ευνοησε τους μικρους καρπους..
