Lange’s Datograph movement holds a special place in the hearts of many enthusiasts. When introduced, an image of the movement graced computer monitors around the world. In 2004, Lange launched the Datograph’s little brother, the 1815 Chronograph, which uses the same movement, with some modifications, the largest of which is the absence of the big date. For 2010, the 1815 Chronograph gets an update.

The dial takes on a more classic, perhaps slightly more dressy look. The four level construction carries over, but the pulsometric scale is replaced with a standard seconds track providing excellent legibility of stopped times to 1/5 of a second. The A. Lange & Söhne name moves from the outer ring above 12 to the more traditional position below 12. At 39.5mm, the case retains its classic size. Inside, the caliber L951.5 movement is as beautiful as ever, now with a proprietary Lange balance spring and a 60 hour power reserve. Of course the column wheel control and stepped pinion for the jumping minute counter carry over. As a flyback, the 1815 Chronograph can be stopped and reset in the middle of a time measurement. A new measurement starts as soon as the push piece is released.

The new 1815 Chronograph is available in pink or white gold with a European MSRP of 32,500 euros.

Οσο αφορα το φινιρισμα ο Philippe Dufour ειχε πει στο WOW οτι πρωτη στο φινιρισμα βαζει την A.Lange & Sohne δευτερη την Chopard και τριτη την Audemars Piguet.
